...nothing but regular Valvoline 10w-30 with auto parts store oil filter every 5K miles since new. When I replaced an oil pan gasket a couple years ago, it was nice and clean. Engine never openned up other that valve/oil pan gaskets, original A/T and turbo. Bulletproof!
My father bought it new and I gave it to me in 1992 as a college gradutation present. I drove it hard for may years before becoming a SAAB fan and realizing I had one of the rarest (1st year 900 convert w/old style block bumpers), although not the most desirable. 257K miles of Chicago winters (until 2000 at least) and pot holes.
