My first SAAB was the 9-5 Aero SW (auto, unlike your manual) I bought new in 2002, have bought five 9-5's since.
Five years ago I didn't like the 2006 interior/exterior changes, but they have really grown on me for the 11 months I've owned my '07. Throw in XM and AUX input, and I don't miss the old stereo one bit.
I don't what seats David's comparing in the '06, but my 60th anniv sport seats (love the contrasting stitching) seem just as wonderful as my '02 Aero's.
My '07 Aero might have slightly less harsh ride than my '02 Aero, but I suspect any Aero with 17" tires is going to have a noticeably harsher ride than 16" non-Aero.
I didn't drive the 2005 9-5 Aero more than a few times before turning over to my son 2 months ago, and it already had over 120k miles. Hard to compare it's ride to other the Aero's.
Can't go wrong, all great cars.
