I also have a 2002 SAAB Arc and at 93K, the transmission is also slamming sometimes and has intermittent flair on shifts. After 2002, the SAAB 9-5's have the manual shift mode where you can force up/down shifts. Does anyone know if that's a function of the transaxle or is it a function of controller? I'm suspecting a swapout is in my future too but would like to install a later unit, maybe from a 2003 - 2006. Will a later one bolt in and the harness connect up?
