Hey everyone!This is my daughter's SAAB and has been maintained as impeccably as possible. With approximately 135000 miles, she is heartbroken as unable to pass emissions with code reference to DIC. Our dilemma is usually during warm to hot weather, her SAAB will shut down and not start until some while later when the engine has cooled considerably. After having spent several thousand dollars on replacement of the crank sensor, fuel pump, spark plugs, and Direct Ignition Cassette, she is still experiencing the same problem. We then began swapping the old DIC with the new (and vice-versa at next shutdown) and the engine would then start and run excellent until the next episode. The last incident was on a crowded highway on a winter nite and she is just a petite little blonde! A state policeman was very impressed as he watched her swap the DIC, but needless to say, this has really ruined her joy and provides little to no confidence in what is overall, a really nice 2003 AERO. We have been to several SAAB mechanics and no one has a clue! Might there be anyone out there who may have experienced this or may offer a solution? We do understand that DIC's are problematic and really would so appreciate some constructive feedback.
