You posted earlier that you end up not making it and having to take it to the mechanic anyway?
If a person either doesn't have time, tools, knowledge or something else, you are in the mercy of whatever mechanic that is closest or cheapest to you.
If you search long and hard on the internet, you might find someone that can do it for less at the other side of the continent or in another country but you are still locked to who can do it where you are at.
If it is over charge or not can be debated forever. Luckily, US is still allowing market forces to rule even though it is getting more and more governed. So if someone is constantly overcharging and everyone knows it, they will probably slowly go out of business. If they are still in business, they are doing it the right way in making as much money as they can without going out of business.
