Hi -- 1999 9-5 SE 2.3lpt with about 169,000 mi. My apologies for posting on a well-worn topic, but current input would be appreciated.
Our '99 9-5 needs attention to suspension: Struts and bushings (springs may be getting tired too). I have priced out stock components on eEuroparts, and $600 for struts alone is fairly steep - wondering about something like Genuine SAAB's P/N 400126967 "Sports Chassis" SAAB USA upgrade kit. The combination of new springs, front strut bearings, sway bars for a $792 price looks appealing. BUT I'm not looking for extreme performance here, and this option lowers suspension as well. I will be replacing at least thrust bushings on front lower A-arms and probably the rear trailing arm bushings too. Any comments appreciated on your experiences with Sachs, Koni, Bilstein struts or the SAAB USA sport suspension.
Thanks,
Mark in Marine (MN)
