Need Help/Advice -

Time to 'renew' the suspension on our 1999 9-5 SE 2.3lpt with 169,000 miles. Decided to go with Bilstein (B6) HD struts front and rear instead of SAAB 'sport suspension' to avoid added work in changing sway bars and compressing springs from full extension. Measured car's rear ride height at 2mm under spec and we are not eating tires. So I have a question whether to add 1" spacers or not. Will consult JJJ Performance.

Advice Needed: 1) What parts will I need to do complete replacement of the front struts using the Bilstein units? Ordered new strut mounts and bearings, but what other pieces - washer, seal, bump stop. The Bilstein struts come with dust boots, and the rear struts have lower bushings, but for the rest I need some help. 2) Has anyone done on-car installation of OEM Front Bushing on the rear trailing arm? There's a DIY on FIXMYSAAB on taking the arm entirely off and using a press (which I don't have). Two DIY's I have seen cover front bushing on-car removal and replacement with polyurethane bushings, but those will likely be too harsh on the pavement that we drive. I would like to remove / replace the trailing arm front bushes using a truck C-clamp style ball joint/bushing press that I already own, but it would be nice to know someone has actually done this. I plan to replace cross stay bushes using the Laser 3800 bush removal tool referenced by Tony J and others (also see posting on UKSaabs website "How to: Rear Rose & Trailing Arm Bushes").

Thanks in advance for sharing your experience and comments !
