Yes, the p1110 code came up, and the vacuum on the TBV won't hold when I "suck" on it with a spare vacuum hose.
Yet, the car seemed to drive just fine, as I babied it home...perhaps unnecessarily.
I did NOT put my foot into it, as all I knew at the time, was that the check engine light was on.
When I got home, I got the p1110 code on the OBD2.
I ordered a new TBV at eeuroparts 4 days ago, but Fedex now predicts shipping to take another 4 days! That may be an eternally long time to wait, and I don't have a spare car to drive. I had been under the impression, that the shipping would be only 3-4 days, total. Must have something to do with the Easter holiday.
I considered that maybe "pinching off" the vacuum line to the TBV would, at least, keep the engine from running leaner than normal. Maybe the car could be driven then?
But would there be any other issues, considering that the TBV couldn't "open up" as it normally would when accelerating? Maybe there would be no issues, but I would certainly not want to overheat the turbo or something. These engines coke the oil easy enough, even when they are working normally. (2002 2.3lpt, 125k)
Thanks in advance!
Craig
