P0116 means that the engine is not coming up to correct temperature soon enough after a cold start. This is caused by the thermostat sticking slightly open. Replace the thermostat. Coolant loss is the bypass valve 95% of times. With the correct tool for the the spring clamps it can be changed in 15min. I guess it helps that I have changed about 50 of them!
