Thanks all for your thoughts so far.
I think I was not as clear as I could have been in my original post. Here are some more details.
I have the control arm out, and removed the big bolt that holds the bushing on the arm. I have a new bushing from eeuroparts, the entire assembly, not just the insert. I expected that bushing assembly to slide off the arm. It didn't!
So far i've pried, hammered (5lb sledge) and used a heavy gear puller. the thing will not budge. Both sides are similarly stuck.
Not sure what to try next. I may try to cut it off, but hesitate for fear of damaging the shaft.
It has been soaking all night with PB Blaster, and that may help.
any other thoughts?
thanks!
bob
PS this car spent part of it's life in Chicago and as I have been doing the front and rear suspension I've found many bolts are rusted in place, Some have required cutting/grinding and most are rusted very tightly in place. It's been a tough fight.
