ABS idiot lights on Dashboard ? Posted by bstan9k [Email] (#215) [Profile/Gallery] (more from bstan9k) on Wed, 6 Jul 2011 10:16:17 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Yesterday, at around lunch time (90 degrees outside) I started my black 2004 9-5 Aero auto and noticed a chime and 3 different symbols on the dashboard relating to ABS and brakes (don't remember the icons).
I was concerned enough not to drive it back to work after lunch and instead took another car.
I bought DOT 4 brake fluid last night thinking I must be low. I was wrong, in fact because the brake reservoir tilts slightly toward the front bumper from horizontal, it almost looked like I was slightly above the MAX mark. I did open it up to check the fluid level and it seemed topped up to me.
Yet, this morning when I started her up, the Check OK on the SID showed up like nothing had happened.
Should I be concerned about anything ?
I know the normal OBDII readers don't do ABS, so I'm unlikely to find any ABS error codes from Autozone.
Those China OBDII devices connected to a laptop that are supposed to check and reset some codes I think said it could detect ABS codes (I just have to find it). Anybody got one of these to work ?
