1999 95 2.3 Auto

I start the car this morning and it idles at 3500 rpm. Hmmm. First start was easy. Second start it wouldn't fire right up, give it a little gas pedal and it started and went right back up to 3500.

I've checked the vacuum hoses. I replaced all the small ones a week or two ago. This is a new car to me, first 95, bought it with a faulty turbo.

No DTC's.

Yesterday I did notice that the coolant temp gauge was not working, stopped, check for fluid, fluid is fine. Drove it home, noticed that I was cruising along at 60 without touching the gas pedal. It didn't want to accelerate. Then at some point the temp gauge came back, car ran as normal the rest of the day. Normal idle.


I need some advise as to what to check. I'll clean the MAF and Throttle body this morning and see if any of that helps.

Suggestions?!
