No problem. Yea some of the items such as an alt can get pricey, but if your planning to keep the car (obviously) its all much easier to replace with the engine out.
To be clear, not really necessary to replace the actual timing tensioner, but to remove the 12mm cap and spring first. Then remove the tensioner from the head and pull the tensioner ratchet all the way out and see how far the tensioner has left to travel. If beyond or close to limit, then pull the timing cover off the engine and replace all the timing chain guides, timing chain, balance shaft guides, chain and tensioner. Some decide to install Nick's balance chain tensioner delete kit. Allows proper oil port plugging to bs tensioner and no need to refit balance shaft chain. Keep oil guides in there for proper fitment and operation of the timing chain guides on the shared pins.
