So, this is not really a stripped oil pan plug, at least yet, but a stuck plug, most likely due to over-tightening by the last person to put it on. If that was the dealer, you might call and see if they will do anything for you. During these tough times, I would think a Saab dealer would not want to alienate any service customers they still have.
If you decide to continue yourself, since you have already gone the bolt out socket route, the next step is vice-grips then a pipe wrench. If those don't work then try a cold chisel on the right edge of the bolt. I have used this method when all else have failed.
I would also recommend getting the oil pan nice and hot, from driving, before you make your next attempt. The aluminum pan expands and contracts at a higher rate than the steel plug, so that if you over-tighten the plug when the pan is hot, it is a real bear to get out when the engine is cold.
