Yeah, I replaced mine after having my fuel pump replaced and still having
starting issues ($$$). Thanks to the board here one can even measure the
resistance and see if it is bad by just unplugging the connector up top.
It's doable but in a bad spot. I would surmise they fail due to the high heat location where they are. I know parts wear out as the cars get older but making this part last longer would really increase the perceived reliability of the car. Not sure why they couldn't have redesigned it or repositioned it elsewhere in the 13 years the 9-5 was in production.
