2003 Aero, Wagon, with 124500 miles.
Bought it this past spring and my indy did a repair of the subframe bushings (front trailing arm I think?) which is an often encountered problem with vibration when shifting into drive.
Their repair instead of taking them out and replacing them for hundreds of dollars, was to use rubber muffler hangers to tighten everything back up, and the original symptom is gone, however now there is another. $85 was better than $600 so why not try it.
The suspension seems very creaky going over bumps, but less so at highway speeds. Drives fine and still capable but I wonder if the springs need to be done? It felt creaky before this repair but maybe now I just notice it more.
I haven't seen unusual tire wear yet (got new tires with the car) and there are yellow shocks all around (Koni?) that are obviously less than 124k old.
Back is creakier than the front but the right front is creakier than the left front. 25% of the time it won't creak at all, over the same roads. That's the weird thing. But it might be getting worse. Sounds like it's bottoming out, but these are small bumps where I hear and feel the noise. Doesn't seem weather-dependent.
When I had my Arc wagon shocks replaced under warranty, the rear end would fishtail a bit when going over bumps at highway speed. That is not the case here.
TIA
