When the engine looses oil pressure the first thing to suffer is piston cooling jet oil supply -- #4 is the furthest from the pump. When you take it apart -- again - you will see piston skirt wear, really ugly scuffing. Usually you can just hone the bore and get a used piston and throw it back together -- I have fixed quite a few this way. Use mobil 1 0-40, make sure your air mass meter is good!
A quick check for loose pistons is to remove the plugs and stick a long screwdriver into the top of the piston ( at TDC ) and see if you can rockit usually you can hear and feel loose ones.
Been fixing Saab's since 1982, and never seen bad 16v hyd.lifters.
