My wife's 2006 9-3 2.0T had a clunk I couldn't figure out at first. Suspension seemed really tight...checked all the ball joints and steering. It was the sway bar end links. If you can, snake your hand around there, hold the swaybar endlink and bounce the car up and down. When I did this, I felt a clunk in the linkage as the car changed directions up/down. That's a pretty easy test. The Aero might be lower, and in that case drive the car onto some wheel ramps to get access to the underside.
