I guess what I'm talking about is the comm protocols utilized in moving configuration data around the car's various and sundry sub-systems. I don't know if everything is coordinated by a central processor running specific S/W with changes implemented through database mods or by a network of EPROMs which are re-programmed by poking function specific values into memory addresses and letting the firmware do its thing. If it's the former the architecture of the processor's I/O bus is what I mean by asking if it's a standard PC Interface (PCI,ISA, etc.) If it's the latter than you've got to know a lot more about the specific structure or have access to a register of some sort that maps directly to the memory addresses and configuration definitions based on the bit-out of the words in the register. Does this make any sense?
