(1) eEuro will now sell you the new yellow GM pn#12378560 even if you order the old Saab blue pn#0268177. they will ship the yellow even if you order the blue. so be prepared to flush completely. might can find some blue around. I have an entire unopened blue as I ordered new (which came yellow) forgetting I had the blue. now I switched to yellow so what to do with the blue I have?
(2) I recommend getting the green out completely. before you swap the thermo and sensor, drain, refill, warmup, repeat 3-4 times with water until mostly clear. once clear enough, do another with couple drain refills with distilled water to get out the other water out (or just used distilled the whole time during the process). swap the thermo and sensor and fill with a gallon of new coolant (blue if you have it still or new yellow). then top off as needed with distilled.
I dont try to do 50/50 as after the flushing there is still distilled water in the system. system is supposed to hold 7.4 liters so almost 2 gallons so I figure put in the 1 gal of coolant and I am about right on the 50/50 between what's still left and the top-off assuming you flush enough to get to almost 100% water.
(3) you can always top off with a little distilled water if in question of what's already in there so as not to mix types.
