Last week I started a trip from indiana to Pennsylvania in my '99 wagon. It takes about 11 hours with a wife and baby. About 2 or so hours into it, my oil light comes on. So I pulled over, and I had a pretty bad tap on the top end. Last year I cleaned out the screen in the oil pan, so I figured I was still good. I put a quart of oil in, and it was good for about 6 straight hours. Then the light came back on. This time it was at night and I saw the turbo have a slight orange glow to it on the exhaust side. Not sure if that's normal. So I added another quart in, the light went off, I got back on the highway and the light came on right away. I let it sit for 15 minutes or so, to see if oil would run into the turbo, started it up, and got no smoke out the back. I had a buddy tow it the rest of the way home the next morning. When I got home, I started it again, no tapping, or light on. My Saab mechanic tool it for a test drive, and everything looked normal. Just a little chain noise. But it does have 243k on origional motor and turbo. I stayed in town for about 5 days and let the car sit. I started it and had A little blue smoke out the back. It's never done that before, just a little wet under the turbo, never drips. What would the problem be? Bad turbo? And/or clogged screen again?
