I've been on the 9000 board for a long time. Now I'm on the 9-5 Board.
While some were driving their Saabs around to show support for the brand, I bought my second Saab. A 2004 9-5 Aero SportWagon. I flew from California to Spokane, WA on Sunday the 15th and drove my Aero back to CA on Monday.
Though this is the second Saab I've personally owned, I'm from a long-time Saab family. I was driven home from the hospital in a 99, I learned to drive a stick on an '83 900S, I drove my mom's '92 9000S many miles as well as my brother's '97 900SE. I put about 100K on my '93 9000 Aero (5 spd) before selling it when my wife and I moved over seas a couple of years ago. I recently passed my dad's '01 9-5 on to my brother, because I had made arrangements to pick up the bad boy you see below (I hope the link is public and active).
This photo was taken shortly after we entered CA on Hwy 97. That large bump in the earth behind us is Mt. Shasta. It was well below freezing, but I had to show off the shirt I wore for the drive south.
It's a pleasure to meet you all,
~Peter
(And, to Mike Lynch, I know what kind of people drive sport wagons... Mine is tucked away next to the R1100RS, ready for the rain and snow coming tonight)
