exactly. those are the right plugs for our car also. I don't know where else I can buy them other than from a dealer of some sort - eeuro shows copper plugs for our car (aero also). Copper plugs do work but don't last as long. That is what I pulled out. Shaw Saab is also a dealer, but prices there are better than our local dealer (for others reading this, we're both from Canada)... I wanted something asap because I was noticing really bad fuel economy + had a warm day to change them right then... I just went in and asked for the plugs expecting it to cost $50-60... to be fair, it was just over $80 before tax... still brutal though!
They are still open as a service center + parts counter where the collision place is + I have used them before in a pinch - to get a specific bolt or whatever, that I "discovered" I needed mid-project... a little overpriced on those items doesn't really matter to me as much as time (and they are a 2 minute bike ride from my house if a broken car is blocking the others!)... I do avoid going there though...
a few years ago, we burnt a valve on a road trip (c900)... I ordered the parts from the saab dealer nearby (over the phone + picked them up next day). Everything was pretty cheap actually (prices really vary between dealers it seems), except the plugs: $200/plug, shipped from Sweden, 2 week wait!! Even the parts guy was astounded! The manual specs the cheapest most basic NGK's (which is of course what I got, elsewhere of course), but the same ones in the SAAB box were a lot more pricey... For the 9-5, I bet the single platinums get 90% of the benefits of the double platinums vs plain copper, and for $16 at Crappy Tire (also a ripoff), that's probably what I will do next time! I track our fuel economy so I will note if these do better than other types in the long term...
James...
