If that's some consolation. The factory spark plugs stayed in my 2001 9-5 LPT wagon for nearly a decade and 90k miles. Then I took them out only because a CEL came before I got a reader to find out "long term fuel mix too lean," which meant not due to spark plugs. Then I kept those old platinum plugs, and bought the convertible, which happened to need new plugs. I had put the old platinum plugs in as a test after seeing a cracked spark plug that came in the convertible . . . solved all the engine complaints on the convertible. A year and half later, the convertible is still running on those decade old spark plugs, with a pack of 4 new copper ones sitting in the trunk that I never bothered in install. LOL.
Did you notice any fuel economy improvement with the new platinum ones?
