I would think that NSS failures are more a function of how much the shifter is moved (number of trips) in and out of P, wearing out the contact points, and perhaps age (grease drying up inside?). So 320K with tons of highway miles could be less NSS component wear than 100K with tons of short hops. OK, that seems really obvious, but since I typed it out, I'll post it. :)
