'06 on cars had Akebono front pads from the factory, while earlier cars have charcoal-mix semi-metallics. The latter have a higher coefficient of friction - might Saab have tweaked something to account for the difference? I'm reasonably certain that they didn't change the calipers, though, since eEuro lists the same part number for the reman units.
