Missing 2008 Trunk Accessories Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Fri, 24 Feb 2012 08:45:07 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I opened the spare tire bay of my 2008 Aero today and removed the spare to see what itmes were kept/lost by the previous owner. I already noted the four plastic snaps for the floor net were missing. I am guessing I can find replacements at a fabric store, camping store, or buy four small carabiners.
The styrofoam block beneath the spare contains the jack, jack handle, lug wrench, Trox/Screwdriver handle, both Torx/Screwdriver rods, and front towing eye. The block has five empty openings. I've checked the Owner's Manual to determine what is missing to no avail. The empty openings are:
1) Located at the 1 o'clock position is a open 5-inch slot with one bulbous end and finger grooves at midpoint. I assume this indicates a missing tire pressure gage as it would be a perfect fit.
2) Just inside of this long slot is a 1-inch diameter circular opening with 180 degree opposed slits extending from the circular hole. End to end length to tips of the slits is about 2 inches. No idea what may fit there.
3-5) These are located at the 9 o'clock position, are deep circular depresisons, are located immediately side by side, and for all the world look like socket holders. No idea what may fit there
The funky tweezers for removing wheel bolt caps are located in the glove box. Perhaps these originally were fitted in the trunk toolholder.
Thanks,
