2001 V6 Battery Seems Not To Be Charging Posted by jeff02 [Email] (#2992) [Profile/Gallery] (more from jeff02) on Mon, 27 Feb 2012 20:21:50 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
2001 V6 about 155k
No lights / codes, after about 15-20 mins of driving, battery seems to be going down in charge. Car will stall or crank and not start / or start.
New battery and after 15 mins of driving and put charger on, charger shows charge of about 25%.
I had the same sort of thing on an i4 chasing it for about 3 months, finally decided to replace the alternator and problem was fixed. Did not get ANY indicator lights on this one either.
Cables all seem to be in good condition, etc.
Just checking with anyone if there is any chance that it could be something besides the alternator. Hopeful but I assume it's about 95% chance it is the alternator.
How come this design I4 and V6 do not throw any lights / codes when alternators are flaky / bad?
