The system voltage is a good place to start to analyze your problem. If you put a battery charger on your battery it will try to get the voltage up to appx 13.8 to 14.2 volts before it tapers back to a trickle charge or pulses on and off. Your new battery would then consider to be fully charged.
Now reading the battery in the car, everything turned off you should read 12.5 to 12.8 volts at rest.

Start the car and the alternator should kick in and you should immediately see voltages above 13.5, measured at the battery. At higher idle within a few minutes voltages should be close to 14. Normal running voltage should be high 13's to up to almost 15. Continued operation at 15 or over will cause issues with the battery and shorten bulb life. Replacing the voltage regulator on the alternator will correct that. But if voltages are lower than 13.2 with engine running and lights and blower on the alternator or associated wiring is the culprit as nothing else in your car has the capability to raise system voltage , only lower it !

The 9000 had a volmeter built into the car and the new 9-5 does as well. Shame it was not part of the OG 9-5, but it is easy to do with a separate meter. Bear in mind if you measure voltage elsewhere i.e. acc. outlet, voltage drop will occur in the wiring and the readings will be a few tenth;s lower.
