Because it is no rhyme or reason to one car or the other how they act in limp home mode.
It is many drivers that has hardly noticed the car is in limp home mode except the Check Engine light being on and it is cars that can not be started or driven into the shop even, in limp home mode.
So that's the skinny of it. No case is the other alike and therefore you will get a plethora of opinions on limp home mode.
