I looked forward to the day my first 9-5 windshield replacement would need another, as the OEM Sekurit I had gotten became pitted over the 5 years I had it until the recent rock crack. So, I'm all hot to get a PPG one this time, based on older SaabNet postings. I go on the PPG website and learn the name for their auto glass division is now PGW (Pittsburg Glass Works?) I get a great deal of $50 off installer's coupon, bringing my cost from insurance deductible down to $50! They let me watch in the shop and then I see the new PGW windshield sitting on the bench is labeled with a temporary paper label with model number and "Made in China"!!!! Exact same graphics for the SRS and solar heat absorbing qualities (are they really in the glass or just fake graphics??) Same all around edge stripes and rear view mirror location shading. I decide not to make a fuss and the install goes smoothly. While driving later I swear I can see some visual wiggle in the glass right in front of the driver's straight ahead viewing position, but not sure yet..
Since I went through my State Farm on this, perhaps I get more leverage if I decide the glass product is inferior? Anybody else have this replacement glass installed?
Thanx,
Kirk D
