30 mpg is do-able. Weight is not the big factor at highway speeds - aerodynamic drag is the biggest load. The wagon has a steeper rear roofline at the hatch, resulting in some disturbed air behind the car, whereas the sedan closes the airflow back up more effectively. This will cost you approx 1 mpg at 65-70mph over a sedan.
So with that said, my LPT would pull down 31-32mpg at 70mph and the Arc would get 30-31, about 1mpg less. An Aero wagon would probably fall right in the 28-29mpg range at 70 mph actual. With decent tires at 36psi.Slow down a little and 30mpg is possible. Premium helps slightly. Quality LRR tires add 1-2 mpg also in my experience, ie. Michelin Primacy MXV4 or MXM4.
