Crank but no start...please read on.
Background: 2000 V6 SE, about 104k miles. The car has Xmas tree dash since Jan/Feb 2012. Speedometer was out a few weeks later. I am aware that could most likely be the bad ABS module (or speed sensor), but I have not had the code read.
Just this past Sunday, I started the car without any problem and went to the gym. My wife forgot something and drove the car back home. She tried to start the car after grabbing the thing she needed, and the car cranked but not started. I attempted a few times in the next few days without any luck.
I checked the maintenance records, CPS went bad and was replaced in July 2008 when the car had 83k on it. CPS went bad AGAIN and was replaced in August 2011 (yes, less than a year ago) with 99k. Dealer replaced CPS on both occasions.
Does the CPS go bad again? Does this "crank no start" have anything to do with the bad ABS module? Could it be other problems?
Thanks.
