So I guess its time for an update.
The mechanic at The Oldwick Garage pulled the head and determined there was something called a Hydro Lock that caused the head gasket to blow out in multiple locations and caused much damage. 1,700 to fix. Once that was done it was determined that the turbo was bad and likely caused the oil to be shot into the intake and led to the head gasket failure. 1,300 to fix. Daughter picked up car. She heard an odd clunking sound and returned to the shop. After they examined they determined that a plastic piece they had replaced near the upper timing chain had failed causing additional damage. Was told the issue was their problem and they would fix no charge. Later when they dug deeper into the engine they felt the lower timing chain was worn and was the actual cause. Was shown the tensioner fully extended on that chain. Engine hanging from under the car on the lift, torn apart. Now they feel that it was not their fault and that when "if" finished daughter will be presented a large bill.
