I just leased an '02 9-5 sedan w/ auto. last week.
My wife and I made plans to drive in our brand new 9-5 from westchester, NY to Litchfield, CT which is about 100 miles away w/ hotel stay prepaid weeks ago.

When I started the car on saturday morning w/ 150 miles on the odometer the SID displayed a message saying "Fill Coolant Fluid". I checked the coolant reserve tank which was 2/3 full. I then called OnStar to find out if there was a dealer in a 40 mile radius from White Plains, NY that had service dept. open on Sat. No dealer had service hours that sat. So the earliest I could get a dealer to look at my car is on Teus.

By the way the Onstar operator had no idea what coolant is or what I was talking about. Great Job Saab in hiring knowledgeable people that can help in emergencies. The twice I used On Star so far they provided me w/ useless info after asking me numerous questions.I was providing them w/ more info than they gave me in return. I had to explain to her like a 3 year old what color the coolant is and what it is supposed to do. I felt pretty upset at that point.

At this point, we made a decision to drive the car up to CT.
Needless to say I was afraid that the car would overheat.
I kept a constant check on the temp. guage which never moved above the midpoint of the temp. range.
I brought the car to the dealer yesterday and they said that they pressure checked the cooling system and found nothing wrong w/ it. They added more coolant fluid.
When I leased the car I recall the dealer telling me that I don't need to touch or fill any of the fluids for at least 10,000 miles.

An event like this makes me question 9-5's reliability and quality.
Is this the beginning of a long string of problems for this car?
Has anyone else experienced this problem?
Would luv to hear the board's comments.
