V6 Timing Belt - I'm Goin' Back In!

The timing belt replacement job for my 2000 9-5 V6 seemed to go a lot more smoothly 5 years ago when I did it the first time. I have the special
tool set and possibly too much of the Saab issued instructions for the job...but this time I had quite a fight to get the belt on initially (even with the guide rollers relaxed) and after setting everything to specs common sense is telling me the belt is just too tight. Yesterday I ran the engine until it warmed up (the cooling fan came on three times) and after turing it off all the guide roller bearings and the tensioner bearing
were very, very hot - as were the cam bearings, so it seemed. I rechecked the timing: Perfect. The inner hash mark on the tensioner was at the preferred position (about 2 mm above the outer mark) while the engine was running; I saw no movement at all of these marks while idling. With the warm engine off the inner hash mark moved slightly below the outer one.
The setup procedure went well but in my gut i still think the belt is
significantly TOO TIGHT. I bought it from thesaabsite and every indication is that it is the correct belt except that the hash marks on the belt were impossible to line up with the rear cam marks and the fron cam marks at the same time (the belt marks for cam 3&4 were about four teeth shy of the cam 3&4 marks with the crank mark and cam 1&2 marks aligned properly. So I said forget the marks on the belt. Im going back in now to rechaeck everything; my fear is that a hot bearing is going to fail and take my V6 along with it! Any insights would be appreciated.
