There are instructions posted on-line for a permanent jumper switch to by-pass the NSS. A temporary jumper can be fabricated from any short length of wire (even a jumbo paper clip!) that shorts the heavy black and white wires in the connector feeding the NSS.
If the car starts with the jumper in place, and won't with it removed, you identified the NSS as the source of your problem.
