How often does the NSS not work? Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Sat, 11 Aug 2012 07:01:23 In Reply to: Re: Will this NSS bypass method work?, Mark from Toronto, Fri, 10 Aug 2012 21:41:34 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
The first "S" in NSS is for safety so I don't recommend a permanent by-pass that requires no operator input. My NSS was increasing its frequency of not operating properly but had a 4 to 6 week mean time between failure occurances when I replaced mine.
It is your car but I recommend using the momentary by-pass switch method until pricing and availability of new NSS units improves. Or install a used unit from a lower mileage car now. It may be easier to replace the switch than install a permanent jumper.
I have a pdf file of illustrated instructions for NSS replacement if you would like a copy, assuming I can find it of course.
