or are you referring to the '06-'09 models? I currently have an '07 9-5 Aero wagon and I love it. I've had two 9-5s previously, a 2001 lpt wagon that I bought new, and an '02 Aero sedan that I bought used. The '07 has had far fewer issues than the older 9-5s had, I was always visiting the dealer to sort one thing or another with the other two cars. I don't go much by what Consumer Reports have to say, but I noticed that the '07 model year 9-5s did pretty well according to them, compared to the other models for original 9-5s.
I've driven one of the new models, it was an '11 4-cylinder automatic. It was definitely quieter than my '07, but some of the directness and exuberance that I'm used to with my '07 Aero was missing. It was extremely solid and well-built, I'd imagine that the chassis has a much lower vibration frequency than the older cars have. The standard engine in the new cars is a 2.0 litre four producing 220 bhp, mine has 260 and I could definitely feel the difference when I got back in my car. I would love to drive a manual version of the NG 9-5, I've heard they make the most out of the 220 hp engine.
I was really waiting for the wagon version of the NG car to be released, sadly that never happened.
