I was thinking of cutting the outer shell of the old bushing out. But if it
has to be pressed out upwards or if a new bushing has to be press in downwards than, no ,I see how it can't be done on the car.
No, all estimates I received were for just the 6 bushings with dropping the
subframe. Alignment, control arm bushings (which are also shot) not included. I can see how if they break any of the many things parts that must be touched with getting the subframe off that the costs could double or triple. A great design.
