Yes - get the warranty - I had purchase my 1988 9000T with 50K on it back in 1991, at that time I opted for the extended warranty (knowing what can and will go wrong ith a SAAB) - My thoughts were mainly for replacing the Turbo - the Turbo if properly cared for (like idling b/4 taking off and cooling down as well as regular oil changes)will last the life of the car, but if not cared for - it would have run between 1 - 2K to replace out of my pocket.
Well the long and short of it - the Turbo lasted just fine - but I had to have 3 window regulators replaced about 10K later at a cost of about 500 per window. The Extended Warranty picked up the tab - minus my 50 dollar deductable.
In addition, my Auto Transmission started to fail right b/4 the warranty was due to expire. So the bottom line, you might NEVER need it - but unless you set aside the 1.5K now for repairs you don't know.
