Without exotic tools I had to do it from.the bottom..drove up onto wheel ramps when cold then removed my weak battery so I could charge it while it was out of the car.

Took about 45 minutes to finaigle the old one out and new one in.

The previous owner left me a brand new cps thank goodness, I always had long cranks and hard starts in the morning (took three to four tries sometimes) but it was much better in the afternoons. Never had a problem where it wouldn't start up fine when warm so I didn't think it was CPS. Yesterday i went on a 35 mile trip each way at 65-70mph on the highway it hiccuped twice and the second time it threw a CEL. My scanguage read p0336 and I cleared it to see if it would happen again but it didn't. On the way home things were fine until I stopped for gas. You guessed it, wouldn't turn over and start for anything. Tried five or six rimes every ten minutes, it took about 75 minutes till it was cool enough to get started. Luckily I had my battery booster (portable 12v battery with jumper cables) since my battery was about toasted at that point. Finally got home. Tried again to start it at home and no luck. So this morning I drive it up on ramps and in the 2 minutes that took me it warmed up enough to not start again.

Replaced it and it started fine the first time. Drove around the block a few times to test without getting stuck far from home and it started up fine when hot too!

Not sure if charging the battery some was the main reason it started so well the first time (also cleaned contacts and sprayed red stuff to help protect the terminals suposedly..) but it also started up easier the first time as well. Tomorrow morning will be the test of that. Now to get back to what I planned on doing this morning! (Non car related)
