I own an 02' Linear and 04' Aero. The 02' Linear 2.3 with 140K original miles and I am average about 20.4 MPG combine. I get about 14 MPG in the city. I don't race or use the sport mode at all. I change my oil at every 5K miles with M1 5w40 Full Synthetic. I will use about 1 quart between changes. I replaced the plugs every year and flushed the tranny every year with the Toyota transmission fluid. Tires are in perfect shape and inflated at the recommended PSI...Oh, I replaced the fuel filter every 30K miles and use Techcron injector cleaner every 5 tank of gas...

On the other hand, my Aero get about 32 MPG combine... Of course, the Aero only has 97K miles on it and I don't baby this car at all as far as driving it. I drive like I stole it sort of speaking and I still get better gas mileage.

Could it be the grade of gas you buy? Maybe, I use 91 octane on the Aero and 87 on the Linear. I tried the higher octane on the Linear, but I only get about 2 more miles per MPG, so I skipped it. However, I do try to use national gas chain, such as, Shell, Amoco, etc. I tried everything that I learned on this site and also reached out to my mechanic buddy at the Saab's dealer and nothing I could do to change the MPG's on the Linear. I used to get something like 29 MPG combine...

That's my 2 cents worth...
