yes, I think for many people/climates, the michelins would work very well. They really drove very nicely on clear roads. I was surprised that we found the 10+ year old worn down goodyears (on a c900) better on ice - in snow I could understand that since the c900 tires are narrower, but ice without studs relies on contact area which should have been larger for the michelins... there was a big difference in stopping distance and control.
Nokians are normally available in most major cities, but in some more remote places they are hard to get. The ones I just bought I actually ordered online because it was much cheaper (even though there are multiple local dealers that carry them). Given that you preferred the michelins to the gislaveds, it is possible you might also prefer them to the hakkas because hakkas typically are a little softer in the sidewalls + work amazingly in snow, but there are tradeoffs on dry pavement for sure!
I'm certainly not trying to disparage anyone else's experience... these anecdotal data points often differ greatly from person to person, and their objectives/climate/driving style, etc...
