My experience is with these jokers "attempting" to deliver packages to me at my urban industrial park location. Every single FedEx Ground package, which I track online, NEVER gets delivered the first time.
Case in point: 2 weeks ago, the tracking system showed one as "delivered," with an unfamiliar signature name. I had to call in to the FedEx mothership, who blithely told me that perhaps there was a problem with the address; actually, the package was addressed down to the suite number, showing full street address and floor. I later sent FedEx a scan for their edification.
These franchise drivers typically drive up to our building, decide that it looks too big to bother with, and then just drop off the package somewhere else that seems convenient! This last one was about 2 miles away at a completely different address. I read the phone rep the "Riot Act," and told them I hoped for their sake that whoever signed for it was an honest person. A couple of hours later the driver showed up with the package.
I eventually spoke to the FedEx "manager" for local ground service, but I still would NEVER send anything important via FedEx Ground. Their Express service is stellar, but when they bought out RPS and DHL (I think) routes and put them out to franchisees, the whole Ground service became a bad joke. </rant>
