Eeuroparts has a picture of the part 4490314 at http://www.eeuroparts.com/Parts/31976/Reverse-Lock-4490314/
There's a white cup in which the shifter ball sits and at the right side of it an L-shaped plastic part overhangs the cup, and has a "foot" that goes down into the right (out) side of that cup. when in place, and you try to go into reverse, the plastic stops the shifter unless you pull up the spring loaded ring under the shifter ball. When the white plastic part breaks and floats loose, the shifter goes right whether you pull up the safety ring or not (no good).
On mine the "foot" that is supposed to anchor the L-shaped part has broken off from the top flat part, and when I get the new one i need to know how to put it back in place properly.
Thanks
