Firstly, have you had your mounts looked at? Most of the cars I service that are having issues with hard shifting is related to the mounts being worn or torn.
I highly suggest Nick T's AT mount bushing, as it limits the travel of the transmission under load or shock, such as when you change gear direction from D to R. Link below.
The only issue with the bushing is it usually causes rattle under the glovebox if your subframe mounts are worn. Most likely if they haven't been done they're due anyhow.
I would say powertrain vibration and clunks are the #1 thing I deal with on the 9-5's.
I also usually offset the idle in drive by +100RPM with the Tech 2 after doing new bushings and mounts to make the car shift even smother between P, D, and R. Some of those 5 speeds still shift noticeably harder than the older 4spds after all of the above work, but it still adds great improvement from where you started.
