I have an '03 Aero wagon with just 50K on it, and it's still one of my favorite cars of all time. Things to check (based on my car and recent maintenance)...subframe bushings (mine were worn out after 9 years of ownership, not just driving.), coolant bypass valve, check the A/C condenser and intercooler for damage (sits behind the front bumper), headlight washers for broken clips that hold on the painted covers, especially since they seem to be a clip on once, but the clips break off when you take them off...although I nearly lost one after an intercooler upgrade that caused a broken clip. I just superglued the cover mount to the washer nozzle mount.
I put new Koni FSDs in my wagon and the handling is way better than stock Aero shocks. Worth the upgrade if you are planning to make it "new" again.
Enjoy...there aren't any large Euro wagons left that are new..except the Volvo XC 70 (not sporty) and the Mercedes E350 4Matic (expensive). I really think this is one of the best cars on the road...biased? Yes. LOL
