It goes back on reverse of disassemble Posted by vvack0matic [Email] (#1443) [Profile/Gallery] (more from vvack0matic) on Tue, 9 Apr 2013 18:24:46 In Reply to: HELP Can't get oil pan back on!!!, Ric, Tue, 9 Apr 2013 17:46:44 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Just kidding,. the oil pan is a p.t.a. make sure the rear motor mount is loosen because it will keep the motor from shifting to the left. Now make sure the wheel in the pic (bottom), isn't jacked up tight against the frame of the car bring the motor down just a bit, just so that pulley wheel isn't wedged tight. Now the next step is get under the car with a screw driver place the back end of the oil pan up in its home and with the screw driver pivot on the bottom side of the auto trans and the other side of the oil pan and pivot the oil pan in using the screw driver.
It going to be an all or nothing at this point. The oil pan isn't going to snap what will happen is you will force the motor over to the right the 1/18th of an inch with the screw driver at the same time slipping the oil pan up in. If the pulley wheels pinched it will stop the motor from moving to the left.
I suppose one could use the tire jack and jack the motor from the wheel-well pushing on that pulley wheel forcing the motor over,. I did it with the screwdriver.
Its a real chore people say 'Oh yeah the pan just drops right out or its simply goes back in,.. they must have a different motor because it was crazy hard. The rear motor mount needs to disassembled or the screw driver isn't going to move anything.
