Replace all vacuum lines. Posted by B Millar [Email] (#1109) [Profile/Gallery] (more from B Millar) on Fri, 3 May 2013 11:26:23 In Reply to: 2004 Aero, will not boost into red zone, bill h., Fri, 3 May 2013 10:42:12 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Visit genuinesaab.com and find their silicone vacuum hose order 10-15 feet of the stuff (it's not terrible expensive), and go in and replace all of the crusty rubber vacuum lines under the hood. Be sure to go one by one so you don't mix anything up. You'll probably need a sharp utility knife to cut the rubber hoses off their nipples at this point. One slit down the length of the nipple and then peel off the hose.
Pay special attention to the hose which runs from the TOP of the turbo bypass valve to the solenoid valve at the firewall and all the hoses that come off of said solenoid valve. One day I HAPPENED to find one that was blown off and once I plugged it back in it was like I had just gained about 20hp worth of boost.
